If you're looking to change where you send the videos each time, though, you don't want to have to create an output for each folder. If you're looking to repeatedly send the recordings to the same location, I would suggest creating a profile with a file output, setting the destination to whatever folder you want the videos to end up at. The caveat (I tried and verified this) is that after you make the change to your environment variables (I changed both TMP and TEMP), you will need to reboot your machine before they'll affect Snagit.Īs for the location where we store your files more permanently, there are two options. In order to change the temporary location that recording files are stored at, what Manny suggested actually does work.

In both cases, you are right in that there is not a way, through Snagit, to change those destinations.įortunately, there are actually workarounds (not necessarily ones that will knock your socks off, for reasons you have mentioned, but they will take care of your problem) to change where your files are sent for both locations. In both cases, you've identified the correct locations for storage.

Smoothbassman, I apologize, but if you're still listening, I'm not clear on which directory (or maybe both?) you're looking to change.
